About Me

My name is Olivia Pontiff. I am from Louisiana, and I am currently a fifth year thesis student in the M.ARCH program at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. My primary interests are architecture, photography, and design. Through these three platforms I seek to celebrate the commonplace. Design surrounds us, and by considering the everyday during my artistic processes, I hope to instill inner peace with my designs. In my architectural studies this emphasis manifests as a deep interest in adaptive reuse, interactive installations, sustainable design and the balance of nature with the built environment. My photography demonstrates this emphasis by featuring my everyday interactions, friends, and plant life as primary subjects. In my artwork I emphasize the elevation of the everyday through the unity of vernacular and contemporary design.
